What I learnt about Cogs  

Cogs are used in toys.

They are shaped like a circle and have teeth on the outside.

Cogs can be used for movement on any object, like a toy.

So yesterday we made a cog ourselves. We had to buddy up with a partner and I chose my best friend obviously. We were given a piece of cardboard to make our cog. We drew a perfect circle then we drew the teeth and cut out the shape of the cog. It didn't take time to finish our project. We tried them out and they worked perfectly.

Learning how to swim is very important to everyone in the world, so that is why we have swimming coaches at our school. Every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays Glen Innes aquatic center coaches come to our school and teaches us how to swim. It is so important to learn how to swim because if you're out in the water and panicking you just might drown. Our swimming coaches teach us a lot and I go to all swimming lessons therefore I am very good at swimming. So you should learn how to swim too.

Hi my name is Hilda-Rose and I am a Cook Island Maori. I was born in 2003 at the Green Lane hospital in Auckland.
I am 9 years old and I live with my mum, papa, uncle Bundy, aunt Wairere and my pet dog Ouy.  I am the youngest in my family.
I like to eat chocolate, watermelon, and apples because they all have different flavours. My hobby is watching TV. My job is looking after my pet dog. My favourite sport is Lape (similar to Softball ) and Tennis.
I love to listen to music and I enjoy dancing and do all kinds of physical activities. I love my cousin Puawai because she is the best and we do everything together.
I go to Glen Innes School and I am a year 5. I am in Room 9 and it is a fantastic and exciting classroom.  My teacher is Mr Ramkolowan. We have netbooks in our class and it is really fun to do our work on it.  I also have lots of friends and their names are Lauren, Lana, Sina, Angelina and my two best friends are Shanelle and Andrea.
